Why call our website and our project Saraguate?
Saraguate is what the howler monkey is called by Central Americans. The loud call of the saraguate carries great distances through the lush rainforest canopy for every other animal to ear. We choose that name because the saraguate’s call represents our wish to communicate and share with others our travels, adventures and impressions.
Saraguate was born out of our family’s travels across North America aboard our Land Rover Defender Dormobile. As our overland adventures unfolded we decided to share them with others and started to document the moments, people and places that impressed us. Later we shared our experiences through different means such as our web page, newsletters, seminars and articles.
Currently, we are working on a new family overland adventure in our Defender to the outreaches of the globe. We will resume exploring and will once again share it, through Saraguate.
